Our name, Araguaney, evokes far-off lands. The araguaney (tabebuia chrysantha) is the tree that symbolizes Venezuela, which bears very attractive yellow flowers. In the Arab world, the term ‘aryuani’ defines a very bright yellow colour. The araguaney is the hotel’s inspiring essence because in one sole denomination it unites Arab colours and luxuriant Latin American vegetation. Araguaney was the name chosen by the founder of the hotel, Ghaleb Jaber Ibrahim, long settled in Compostela, who is of Palestinian origin and has a Venezuelan wife.
An unmistakable identity mark of the Eurostars Araguaney is its passion for art. Along the corridors and in the guest rooms hang works by artists such as Quintana Martelo, Antón Patiño or Felipe Criado.
How to get there
The Eurostars Araguaney Hotel is located in the very centre of Santiago, in the heart of the city’s business and shopping area, a short distance away from the historical hub. The Obradoiro Plaza is a mere 600 metre walk away. Close to the University campus and the City of Culture, the Aranguaney is 10 kms. from the airport and 20 minutes from the Atlantic coast.
The building has two entrances: the main entrance on Alfredo Brañas 5, which gives direct access to the hotel lobby; and the second, on Montero Ríos 25, from the shopping mall.
From the airport
The airport of Santiago de Compostela – Lavacolla is located only 16 km from the hotel. There are buses with multiple frequencies that connect the airport with the city centre, in particular with Plaza de Galicia, just 300 metres from the entrance of Eurostars Araguaney.
From the train station
The train station of Santiago de Compostela is located less than 1 km from the hotel. In the entrance of the station you can find a taxi rank that will take you to the hotel in 5 minutes. If you rather come walking, you can take Rúa de Ourense and turn left when you arrive to the street República de Argentina. Then, take the second street to the right, Alfredo Brañas, where Eurostars Araguaney is located.
By car
To accede to Santiago de Compostela by car, we recommend to entre to the city by Avenida de Romero Donallo or Avenida do Mestre Mateo, the main entrances. Both routes lead to Avenida Rosalía de Castro, where you must turn right in direction to the Alameda and historic centre. When you reach the Alameda, you must turn right by the street Rapa da Folla. Take the first street to the left, Montero Ríos, and then turn right in Calle de Alfredo Brañas. Here, in the number 5, you will find the door of the hotel.
