A classical place for people with class. That is the Hotel della Torre Argentina. Nothing too loud. Nothing experimental. A hotel just as our guests would wish: peaceful, comfortable, central, friendly, with no surprises and with excellent service.
Located in the historical centre, at the point where ancient and modern Rome merge, Hotel della Torre Argentina is set in an aristocratic Settecento palace, decorated in classical style and with abundant decoration in fine woods. One of our best-kept secrets is the panoramic terrace from which one can admire the handsome sight of the roofs of Rome at dusk: this rooftop area is open to all our guests.
We are in an unsurpassable location. Within a radius of a 5-minute walk we can discover, amongst other representative sights in Rome, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Church of the Gesù, Campo dei Fiori, Piazza Venezia, Campo de Marte, Trajan’s Column or the Imperial Fora.
The hotel has undergone recent renovation (2010) in order to offer the level of facilities our guests deserve. We have two small reception lounges, a reading room and a romantic breakfast room, decorated in eclectic Italian style. The hotel has obtained the ISO 9002 quality certification for its excellent level of services.
Incidentally, what is the Torre Argentina? It is a square that takes its name from the Quattrocento palace which was the residence of the Papal Master of Ceremonies to five popes, Johannes Burckardt, originally from Strasbourg – the Latin name of which was Argentoratum – who would sign as Argentinus. Nowadays, the Torre Argentina Square is flanked by four temples from the era of the Roman Republic.
